Product Review: Titania Pasta Machine
Who doesn’t love a plate of delicious made from scratch pasta? I personally love fresh pasta, and it is even better when you are the person who makes the pasta. However, making pasta from scratch can be difficult if you aren’t experienced. You might not get it the right thickness, or the strips might not be the same size.
There is a way to make your life easier when making pasta though. The Titania Pasta Machine is a pasta roller that originated in Italy. I recently had the opportunity to use it for the first time.
First you want to make your dough and let it rest for half an hour. Then, you want to run it through the roller, fold it in thirds, and run it through again. Repeat twice more. Make sure to flour your dough to prevent it from sticking to the roller.
Once you’ve run the dough through the roller three times on the largest setting, set the roller to the next setting and run the dough through again. do this until the dough reaches the thickness that you want it to be.
Once the dough is the desired thickness, move the crank to the cutter that you wish. The machine I used had an option for spaghetti and fettucine. I chose to do fettucine. Once the crank is in position, run your dough through and lay it on a floured sheet pan.
Overall, this was a great product. I will definitely be looking into investing in one for myself. The only thing about this that I wasn’t super happy with is that it’s kind of hard to use without a second person there to help support the dough as it comes out of the roller. Other than that, I really enjoyed using this product and I enjoyed getting to eat fresh pasta.
